A prayer for the Mothers of Ukraine
As many of you know, I’m “holding down the fort” here at Boreal Bliss while Bryana is on maternity leave. I had other plans for the blog this week. But, like many of you, I have been processing the invasion of Ukraine. It’s been a long time since my heart cleaved open, a canyon of grief, and the only thing I can offer is a prayer. I had a long cry while writing this, and as always, writing did help me work through some very difficult emotions.

Sending out love to all of you.
If donating to support the people of Ukraine is calling to you, this excellent post from the Washington Post has several ideas for contributing. “How Americans can help people in Ukraine.”

A retreat weekend provides a rare opportunity to try life without alcohol, THC, nicotine, sugar, caffeine, social media, work emails, or whatever it may be that feels like it might be holding you back. Allow yourself to be fully immersed in all the ways you are nourishing your body for the weekend and see how VIBRANT and ALIVE you can feel.

Four years in a row! We’ve brought hundreds of women to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (and now the Quetico too!). We’ve pushed ourselves to our edge, laughed until we cried, and left with a sense of love and longing for the magic that is Birchwood Wilderness Camp. Honestly it’s really difficult to capture and summarize just how special this experience is, but I shall try!
